No better way to clear the cobwebbs away than a cross-country ski tour, gliding through glinstering winter wonderland. Regardless of whether you prefer the classic style or skating - you will enjoy the magnificent snow-covered mountain scenery, the fresh Tyrolean mountain air and you will basically use all muscle. Just a few meters away from Alpinschlössl is where you will be able to start the 3513 m long cross-country ski run.
Additional 15 cross-country ski runs are nearby. And if you should still fancy some action after the day has gone to an end, we recommend the Burgschrofen recreational cross-country ski run that is illuminated until 10 p.m. and is located on the opposite valley side. And should snow be lacking in the valley, you can still go for a cross-country ski tour higher up, where you will find fantastic cross-country ski trails, including the 28 km long Luggi Gredler ski trail in Tuxertal or the appealing ski trails in Ginzling and Gerlos.
Whether during the day with the entire family or in the evening after the après ski - 15 tobogganing runs in Zillertal offer approx. 45 km of fun entertainment, away from the busy ski run. It is particularly romantic to walk up on foot with the sledge and luge downhill into the valley by moonlight. An easier option is the cable car that will take you up the mountain. The illuminated toboggan runs offer good visibility after sunset.
For many of you the thought of ice skating will bring back childhood memories. You can relive them again on the well prepared natural and artitifical ice skating rinks in Zillertal. The popular ice skating rink in Mayrhofen is open from December to March. Adults, couples that are in love and many others enjoy sliding over the frozen water and demonstrating their pirouette skills. Floodlights and ice disco's guarantee a cosy ambiance and the perfect ending to an eventful day. On paymen of a small fee, ice skates and ice hockey sticks can be rented. Curling is offered as well.
